After communicating with the client about some technical details, a machine tool control schematic diagram was drawn up. A preliminary design was mainly carried out for the strong electrical components such as the X, Y, Z, and A axis servos, spindle servo, and turret, as well as the input and output signals.

The most important is turret control. The client wants to use the A-axis for turret indexing, while combining external I/O signals(clamping and unclamping) of the turret. This is different from the traditional form of AC motor turret with tool position signals/encoders. We will implement this with a solution that combines macro programs and modified ladder diagrams.


After resolving the turret issue, we set the electronic gear ratios for the X and Z axes, adjusted the servo gains, and conducted positioning accuracy tests using a dial indicator, all of which met the requirements.
