Fieldbus Lathe Controller is a new generation MECHATROLINK-III (M3) fieldbus CNC lathe controller. It adopts semi-closed motion control algorithm,work with TOMATECH 17Bit /23Bit optical absolute encoder servo motor and drive.The TAC2000TBi Series controller has the technical advantages of high speed and high precision, making it ideal for complex machining tasks.

After communicating with the client about some technical details, a machine tool control schematic diagram was drawn up. A preliminary design was mainly carried out for the strong electrical components such as the X, Y, Z, and A axis servos, spindle servo, and turret, as well as the input and output signals.

The most important is turret control. The client wants to use the A-axis for turret indexing, while combining external I/O signals(clamping and unclamping) of the turret. This is different from the traditional form of AC motor turret with tool position signals/encoders. We will implement this with a solution that combines macro programs and modified ladder diagrams.

After resolving the turret issue, we set the electronic gear ratios for the X and Z axes, adjusted the servo gains, and conducted positioning accuracy tests using a dial indicator, all of which met the requirements.
