Smooth Operation
The motor must maintain smooth operation across all speed ranges, with torque fluctuations minimized. Especially at low speeds, such as 1 r/min or lower, a stable speed should be maintained to avoid creeping.
Overload Capacity
The motor should possess long-term overload capacity to meet the demands of low-speed, high-torque operation. Typically, a DC servo motor can withstand 4-6 times its rated torque for several minutes without damage.
Fast Response
To meet the requirements of fast response, the motor should have low rotational inertia and high stall torque, while maintaining the lowest possible time constant and starting voltage.
Durability
The motor must be able to withstand frequent start-stop, braking, and reversing operations to ensure stable performance during long-term use.
